The end of the year!

Today is the last day of the year! It has been a very eventful year!

In January 2013.....

I turned fifteen!!!

and Charlie the bunny joined our family!

In February...

I visited the museum of Civilisation. But Besides that we, hid away from the chilling cold and anticipated the coming of spring and flowers in our own way!

In March....

We started planting seeds inside! Hoping that we would have an amazing garden to eat from by fall!

the skateboards and spring sweaters came out!

We climbed the local hill for the first time since winter.

And we had a delightful Easter full of eggs and treats!

In April....

My siblings and I discovered a lake in our backyard, that turned out to be a summer load of fun for us!

In May......

We got a chicken and the real flowers started coming out!

Mom started the garden.

we walked to church for the first time because the car broke down.

And Oreo had Kittens!

June...

Was a very eventful month!

Emma had her first holy Communion!

Christopher graduated from elementary school!

Daniel finished kindergarten!

I got two ribbons to add to my track and field collection. And made the school record for the 800m race!!!

        And the garden started to grow!

In July...

We had a great reunion with my uncle and aunt who we hadn't seen for over five years!

And my sister and I went to a fun retreat in st Raphael's. 

In August...

 I worked at a camp for the first time ever, and got bit by a snake. My fault!!

Beside's that, I took a break from blogging because life was extremely busy. Between that time, we moved from tents, to our friends house, to our new house!

December

We got new chickens!

Our pump froze, so we hauled water from the well to the house.

we got an abundance of snow!

We got a dog!

And had a Merry Christmas!

What a year! I wonder what 2014 has in store!

There was so much snow this Christmas it was crazy!

Our van broke down so most of my family wasn't able to attend the children's concert. That was too bad, because it's always enjoyable watching my siblings preform! still, they were able to go, so at least they were happy!!

The van was finely fixed, so we were all able to attend Christmas eve mass as a family!

Christmas day came!

Thanks to a lot of generous people we all got great gift!!!

I got a survival pack which I LOVE!!!! Now I can carry a much lighter and smaller pack when I hike!!!!

I also got curtains to seperate my side of the room from the others

And best of all  we got a dog!!!

His name is Boo!

He is a Germen shepherd, border collie, chocolate hound, Timber wolf mix.

And he is very energetic!

 I love my dog!!!!























It was a great Christmas! The best I've ever had!

Tracking What?!!

A mink track we saw

As you all know, I like to hang out in the woods and explore. Since we have moved, there are so many new places to go. So this weekend I was determined to go out in to the nearby woods. I asked my siblings if they wanted to come, but since none of them have the same exploring passion, and my parents were too busy, that left just me to go. So I went alone.

Anyhow it was a nice day. The sun was bright. I was so happy to be out. There was a fair amount of snow, but not too much. The tracks from the forest animals were easy to see now because of the snow. Mostly deer tracks. I wasn't too worried. That was until I saw the big tracks

you can't see it very well, but it was about the size of my hand.

I was a little scared. I mean I was alone, with no knife or stick, a little ways from home. I didn't take a long look at the track. I grabbed a stick and cautiously headed home. I figured it was cougar tracks. Fairly new ones because of the snow fall. Anyway, I wanted to be sure of this, so today, a friend of mine, my sister, and I went tracking.

We came across this abandoned log cabin in the woods.

Then we came to the prints. They were a cat prints, that was certain. No claw prints, which is common in cat prints. The thing seemed to be running. We think after deer, as their tracks intertwined half the time.

Our problem was, no clear toe marks could be seen, and other animals had run over the tracks. This also helped in away, because it's a fact that cats don't leave very clear prints. We were also hoping it would leave some waste evidence, or a trace of it's kill, but it seemed to have been too intent in catching it's deer. 

Anyhow, what was it? I don't know. A cat of some sort. Could be a cougar, but is mostly likely a bobcat or lynx. Anyway, I'm hoping we get a dog soon! A dog would be a nice walking partner in a cat infested forest!

A Year of Blogging!!!

It's been a year since I started this blog!! Well it was officially a year Tuesday, but still! 

A snow day today!!

Cow slept by the window this morning

Turns out he's not feeling so well. He got in a fight last night. I'm going to keep him inside tonight to avoid more injury.

Charlie and Cookies in cream are happy to see me bringing fresh food.

Cookies in Cream is still rather shy.

The chickens were very happy for their food!

Max looks at them from his perch. Oddly he's at the bottom of the pecking order, so I feed him outside, so they don't steal from him.

The children entertained themselves with making snowmen!

Today is very warm, but it's supposed to freeze again tomorrow.
