Spring Fever

Sorry! It's been awhile since I last posted.....okay, a long time since I last posted. I've been real busy with school, trying to find a summer job, and construction around the house. Moving is NOT relaxing!

Anyhow I have spring fever. An actual spring fever! Not the expression. I woke up with a terrible soar throat, and the stubborn girl I am, went to school. I got home and I was burning all over, and still kind of am. Anyhow, bonus!! Sick time leads to blog time!!!

So here are all the things going on at the moment.

The pond is unfrozen and looks good for future swimming!!

Mom has started her garden and sort of took my rabbit cage for the project. lol
The tent has become a play room and a place to sleep if  the bedroom is too hot.
The chickens are happy to be able to run around in the nice weather!!

The tire swings are up and are providing hours of fun!!

And we have Kittens again!!!
Free to anyone who lives near by!!!

Anyway, those are some of the changes spring has brought upon us! All good except for the bugs. So many bugs I feel like I'm suffocating in them! I look like I have the chicken pox! That's how bad it is. Hopefully as the year goes on they'll slowly fade.
(Or I'll be dead with black flies picking at my bones!!)
Ontario! Doesn't it sound lovely!

Hope you all have a good spring with a limited amount of bugs! And I'll try to keep more up to date on this blog.

                      Spring.............Maybe?

There has been stormy clouds all day, but that hasn't put me down! I'm hoping that this weather is our first sign of spring!!

After all it is the first day of spring!!

The chicken are happy with the weather! They are starting to lay eggs!!!

Max, the rooster attempted his first cocledoodledu today!!!
Dad and Boo have become best buddies! They play together all the time!!

We have been chasing the winter blues away with campfires and sweets!!!

Hopefully those winter blues will be gone, and spring will come on in!!!! Fast!!

                                   Winter

I am pretty sure this has been the coldest winter of my life! The temperatures have mostly been under -19. They have even gone down to -39! Here are some pictures of how we have been dealing with this cold weather.

Crafting
My sisters and I have been in a bracelet making mood. My friend taught me how to make a real cool loom for making these; so we had a crafting day, and made lots of looms and bracelets!

Making the looms!
Finished loom

Finished loom with bracelet attached

Making the bracelets!
Finished braclets!!!

Playing outside

Even though it is cold out we haven't stopped going outside! These are a couple pictures from my sisters broom ball tournament! I actually braved going out to watch it! Afterwards, my fingers and nose felt about to fall off. still it was worth going to see!

And of course the cold can never keep me from skating. Our pond froze over, so now we have an ice rink!

We also are on technology a little more than usual.

lol

And we sleep a little more too!

Oh yeah, and us kids are getting into the winter Olympics!

Go Canada go!!!
Watching other people freeze while we sit comfortably by our laptops!

Enjoy your winter!!

                            Sweet Sixteen!!!

Yesterday was my sixteenth birthday!! I feel like I entered a whole new world!
The bear claw necklace I got, made me feel I had earned this part  of life. What's really cool about it, is it is an actual bear claw!!

And of course there were more gifts!!!! This is a picture my brother took of me receiving my chocolate!!!!!

I got a shelf to put all my stuff on!

I got two new penny whistles! Including a music book to go with them!!!

And then the best of all.........!!!!!!!!

I got a naturalist program!! I can now further explore my passion of the wilderness!! And it looks like a lot of fun!!!

I had one friend over for the day, and we spent all afternoon sledding with my siblings!!
We got really creative and started using feed sacks for sleds!!
And cardboard when we got tired of the manufactured sleds!
We had a lot of fun!!

Lucy really enjoyed the ride!!!

We had Banana splits for dessert. Mom also started introducing me to her new herbal remedies.
I'm sure they are good for you, but what happened to a " Spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down?"

After supper we watched A Walk to Remember

Really recomend it! I cried the last fifteen minuets of the movie. It is really touching!!!

And that was my birthday!!! It was definitely sweet! I really enjoyed myself even though it was a simple birthday celebration!!!

So now I have another long walk from sixteen to seventeen! That's okay!! I like to walk!! Even if it's it cold! lol. There is so much to discover if you get your feet moving! Which I'm going to start doing right now! I wonder what the naturalist program has in store for me? I think it's time I started it!

I may not have too many new posts for January. Exams are coming up, and this naturalist programs going to keep me busy too! Will try, but you can definitely hope for more posts in February!

Bye for now!!
